Battling win a building block for Spurs says Eriksen

Tottenham’s weekend match winner Christian Eriksen believes that his side’s battling win can be the building blocks for confidence in his team mates, according to Sky Sports.

After falling behind to a goal from former Spurs player Jake Livermore, Hull were reduced to ten men before the away side produced some very entertaining football to come back and win 2-1.

Eriksen was the scorer of the dramatic 89th minute winner and the Dane now believes it can inject a new found confidence into an underperforming side – the three points lifted Spurs to just tenth place in the table after some poor showings.

The Dane said: “That gave us a bit a confidence for our next games. In the second half we played very well.

“In the first half we started slow and they were quicker than we were.

“In the second half we played well, forward and attacking, and of course we played well against 10 men and it gave us more space.”

It has been an incredibly difficult period for Tottenham fans to watch that has seen their side lose four of their five home games this season.

Calamitous mistakes, poor form and what some pundits and fans claim a lack of desire have made life at White Hart Lane difficult for new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

However despite all the criticism Pochettino’s side are just two points off the Champions League places in an incredibly tight table.
