Cabaye linked with Premier League return

Premier League trio Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are on alert as midfielder Yohan Cabaye is looking set to return to the Premier League in January, according to the Daily Express.

The France international only moved to PSG in January from Newcastle United following two and-a-half years on Tyneside. However, he has struggled to hold down a regular place in the starting XI, with the likes of Lucas Moura, Marco Verratti, Blaise Matuidi and Thiago Motta offering competition in the centre of the park.

So far this season, Cabaye has made 14 appearances in all competitions, but over half of those have come as a substitute. His contract runs until the summer of 2017, although former Newcastle defender Olivier Bernard is certain that he will return to England at the turn of the year.

“He will be back in England in January, absolutely no doubt,’ said Bernard. ‘He will come back to the Premier League and he will already be looking for a club to join that will get him the games that he needs to guarantee him a place in the France squad.”

Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for Cabaye in the past, while Liverpool and United are both expected to look to strengthen their midfield in January and will see Cabaye as a terrific option.
