Chelsea and Arsenal agree Cech deal, reports claim

Chelsea and Arsenal will complete a £7m transfer for goalkeeper Petr Cech, according to reports from the Daily Star.

It’s claimed the goalkeeper will cross London after losing his place as the Blues’ No.1 to Thibaut Courtois, the Belgium international who this summer returned to Stamford Bridge after three years on loan at Atletico Madrid in which he won the Primera title and reached the Champions League final last season.

Manager Arsene Wenger is said to have already held talks with Chelsea over Cech and will lodge a bid for the 32-year-old with a view to the transfer going ahead when the window re-opens in January. There is no information as to what the rumoured deal would mean for current Gunners No.1 Wojciech Szczesny.

Cech has been a Chelsea player since a 2004 move from Rennes. He has played more than 450 games for the club, winning the Premier League title on three occasions, the FA Cup four times, the Europa League, the Champions League, and a smattering of other trophies.
