Chelsea to provide loud atmosphere for West Brom meeting after Mourinho’s previous criticism

As reported by the Standard, Chelsea are expected to create a loud atmospheric experience against West Brom this weekend, after manager Jose Mourinho criticised the supporters for their lack of volume in their previous home game.

“He’s very, very popular with the fans. I would expect people would respond to it. I would anticipate at the start of the game he’ll get a big cheer, they’ll chant his name and there will be lots of chanting. I would expect a good atmosphere on Saturday,” said Chelsea Supporters’ Trust chairman Tim Rolls.

Mourinho described the fans’ support as “like playing in an empty stadium” against Queens Park Rangers early this month. It’s the first home game for Chelsea since his comments, and it’s expected to lead to a positive reaction from the fans as the Blues continue their push for the Premier League title.
