Danny Welbeck picks up injury in England’s win against Scotland

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck has picked up a hamstring injury while playing in England’s 3-1 win against Scotland.

The former Manchester United man came off in the 66th minute, but it was deemed as more a precaution, with Welbeck adamant he could play on. However, it will be a sweat for Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger as they wait for the news about his potential injury.

The Gunners host Manchester United in the Premier League this weekend, which was set to be Welbeck’s return against his former side, so he would be bitterly disappointed to miss out on the clash, while Arsenal would be threadbare with fully fit attacking options in his absence.

Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott are both working their way back to fitness, while Alexis Sanchez has fared better operating in a deeper position, so Wenger could have a selection headache of the scans reveal he will miss the United clash.
