Emre Can says Brendan Rodgers was instrumental in him choosing Liverpool over Bayern Munich

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can reveals Brendan Rodgers was the key factor in him snubbing a move to Bayern Munich in favour of the Reds this summer, reports the Express.

“I could have stayed at Bayer Leverkusen and eventually gone back to Bayern Munich. But at this stage Liverpool seemed the right thing to do. The manager was very important because I could see he believed in me straight away,” he said.

Can, 20, signed for the Reds from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen for around £10M, and has made five Premier League appearances for Liverpool so far. He scored his first Reds goal earlier this month, a deflected effort in the 2-1 defeat to league leaders Chelsea, and has been tipped for a bright future.
