Everton 3-0 Lille: Dominant Toffees earn comfortable win against Lille to go top of Group H

Goals from Leon Osman, Phil Jagielka and Steven Naismith saw Everton coast to victory against Lille in the Europa League on Thursday night, reports BBC Sport.

Everton took the lead inside of half an hour through Leon Osmam. The long-serving midfielder recently signed a one-year extension to his contract, and celebrated with a well-taken effort in the 27th minute.

Minutes before half-time, Phil Jagielka rocketed a header past Vincent Enyeama in the Lille goal to double Everton’s advantage at the break.

After the hour mark, the Toffees made it three. Romelu Lukaku fed Leighton Baines on the overlap, and the England international’s cutback met Steven Naismith, who was strong enough to hold off the defender and hit his effort into the roof of the net.

Everton’s win ensured they go top of the pack, while Lille’s chances of qualification took a big hit.
