Everton’s Leighton Baines out for up to two weeks with hamstring tear

According to Sky Sports, Everton defender Leighton Baines will be out of action for around two weeks with a hamstring tear.

The 29-year-old missed England’s 3-1 win against Slovenia through injury, with Arsenal Kieran Gibbs deputising in his place, but a statement on the club’s website suggested he may return in time for Everton’s Premier League clash against West Ham next weekend.

“Baines will continue to be monitored by Everton’s medical team and, although he remains a doubt for next Saturday, he has not yet been ruled out of the game against Sam Allardyce’s Hammers,” said the statement.

Baines has been ever present for the Toffees this season, scoring three goals and making seven assists in 15 games in the league and Europe.
