Former Manchester United manager David Moyes reveals he turned down Premier League offers to join Real Sociedad

New Real Sociedad manager David Moyes admits he had a lot of Premier League offers prior to being appointed with the La Liga side, reports ITV Football.

“I had several offers to manage back in the Premier League, and I’ve spoken to several clubs in different countries, but I never had any doubt (about joining Sociedad). The only place that has really tugged at the heartstrings and made me think this is the right club has been Sociedad,” he said.

Moyes had long said he would consider managing abroad, but had the option to take another Premier League after being sacked at Manchester United last season. The Scot admitted the Bundesliga and La Liga interested him while he was manager of former side Everton, and he now feels he made the right choice in Spain.

“It’s the right time. I’m well rested, I’ve had six months off and I’ve got to say I’m raring to go. I’m really looking forward to the challenge, I’m really looking forward to showing what we can do,” he added.
