Frank Lampard fails to rule out possibility of extending his loan spell with Manchester City

After coming off the bench in the 3-0 win against Southampton to score his fifth goal in 11 games for Manchester City, midfielder Frank Lampard is open to extending his loan spell with the Sky Blues, reports Sky Sports.

Reports have suggested manager Manuel Pellegrini would be keen to have Frank Lampard on loan from New York City for longer than the end of December with how well he’s performed for the side.

The 36-year-old was introduced in the second-half against Southampton this afternoon, but made a typically telling contribution with a trademark low effort from the edge of the area to double Manchester City’s lead.

“I haven’t spoke to them on that front at all, I’ve been concentrating week to week and getting fit when I was injured for a while. I’m not looking that far ahead. It’s nice that they are saying (they want me to stay). We’ll see what happens about that one,” he said.
