Inter Milan in bid for Manchester United’s Robin Van Persie

According to the Telegraph, Serie A giants Inter Milan are looking to sign Manchester United’s under-performing striker Robin Van Persie, potentially in the summer rather than in January.

Inter manager Roberto Mancini was keen on signing the Dutchman from Arsenal when he was in charge of Manchester City back in 2012, but Van Persie made the move to Manchester United instead. And with the 31-year-old struggling for form in the Premier League, Mancini believes Van Persie would be better suited for the slower pace of Serie A.

His valuation is said to be less than half of the £24M United originally paid for him two years ago, with his contract set to be up at the end of next season. Inter Milan need a prolific goalscorer to help fire them up the table, and with Van Persie having endured a difficult 18 months at Old Trafford, he could well be convinced to move.
