Liverpool defender Glen Johnson scored in the last few minutes of normal time to earn the Reds a much-needed victory against Stoke City, reports BBC
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard found himself on the bench ahead of the game, with manager Brendan Rodgers making a host of changes as the Merseyside club had lost three consecutive Premier League games prior to their Potters clash.
Boasting a bench choc-full of expensive talent, Liverpool weren’t at their best against Stoke at Anfield. And the Potters had moments of their own where they came close to scoring against Rodgers’ side. Liverpool & Stoke shared the same amount of chances in the game, and it was surprisingly the visitors who edged the possession.
But Glen Johnson popped up with a header under pressure in the 85th minute to earn Liverpool their first league win in five.
