Ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the Santiago Bernabeu to face Real Madrid in the Champions League, manager Brendan Rodgers had compared winger Raheem Sterling to Ballon d’Or nominee Cristiano Ronaldo, reports ESPN.
Sterling has impressed early in his Liverpool career, and this season has scored three goals and has made two assists in nine league games. Last campaign, the 19-year-old scored nine and made five assists as the Reds finished second in the table.
“It’s now about going to those next levels with the second part of his curve. The first part is coming in and establishing yourself as a young player – it’s not easy earning that respect. Now hopefully he’ll move onto the levels.”
