Liverpool targeting want away Porto striker Jackson Martinez

According to the Express, Liverpool are lining up a bid for Colombian striker Jackson Martinez, after the Porto man hinted he wanted to leave the Portuguese Liga outfit at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, who signed for Porto in 2012, is said to be keen on an exit with Porto having struggled in the league in the last 18 months. His asking price is cloudy, as Porto wouldn’t be too keen to sell given his impressive scoring record.

Martinez has scored 72 goals in 107 games for the Dragons, but they only mustered a third-place finish in the league last season, and are already three points off the pace this campaign. With the Colombian having heard of interest from Liverpool among other European clubs, he’s seeking an exit to better his chances of winning trophies.
