PSV Eindhoven winger Zakaria Bakkali has once again refused to enter new contract talks with his club, renewing Manchester United hopes of singing the youngster, the Daily
The 18-year-old has been dropped to the club’s B team as he continued to refuse contract negotiations over a new deal – with his current contract expiring in June next year.
Bakkali was expected to join Spanish Champions Atletico Madrid last summer but pulled out of any deal after it was thought his representatives had held increasingly positive talks with the Old Trafford club.
If Bakkali continues to turn down renewal talks United are free to talk to him as early as January 1st in a bid to sign him on a pre-contract agreement – meaning they could well bag the teenager on a free thanks to the Bosman rule.
The Belgian is a product of PSV’s youth system having joined the club at 12-years-old.
Last season saw him break into the first team picture where he played 22 times in total and scored 4 goals.
However, he is yet to play a game for the first team this term amid the difficulties surrounding his contract situation.
