Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata scored a second-half winning goal after coming off the bench against Crystal Palace to earn all three points at Old Trafford, reports BBC
Manchester United had a weakened starting eleven to face the Eagles, with the Red Devils suffering from an injury-depleted defence. They boasted the lion’s share of possession throughout which ensured their backline weren’t tested too much during the game.
However, despite their good ball retention, they failed to create many clear cut chances of note to break the deadlock. Crystal Palace offered very little threat throughout, and ended the game with just 28% possession.
Inspiration came in the second-half, from substitute Juan Mata, with the Spanish midfielder scoring in the 67th minute. United held on for the win which was their third home win in four games.
