Manchester United could swap Ander Herrera for Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri in January

According to the Express, Manchester United are looking to sign Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri, which could see Ander Herrera going in the opposite direction.

Herrera is reportedly attracting interest with Bayern Munich due to his combative style and creativity in the midfield, with manager Pep Guardiola said to be very keen on the Spaniard. He could be used as a makeweight for Xherdan Shaqiri to join United, as they’ve been in desperate need of wingers.

Reports are suggesting Bayern could offer Shaqiri and £7M to sign the £30-rated Herrera, who only joined Manchester United this summer from Athletic Bilbao. The 25-year-old, a Spanish U21 international, has amassed just 364 minutes of Premier League football, spending the last four games as an unused substitute.
