Manchester United defender Marcus Rojo dislocates shoulder in Man City defeat

Manchester United centre-back Marcus Rojo is the latest defender on the treatment table after dislocating his shoulder in the 1-0 away defeat to Manchester City, reports BBC Sport

“We will have to wait and see. It’s a disaster for us. So many defenders are injured and you have to play each week with another defence,” said Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal.

With Phil Jones (shin splints), Chris Smalling (suspended), Jonny Evans (ankle) and Marcus Rojo (shoulder) now unavailable for United’s next league game, Van Gaal could well be forced to name a makeshift backline.

The Red Devils were forced to end the game with Michael Carrick and young Paddy McNair in the backline as a result of the injuries. Ahead of next weekend’s game against Crystal Palace, United could be forced to plump for the youth players again.
