Manchester United in bid for PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye

According to the Metro, Manchester United are lining up an approach for out-of-favour Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye when the January transfer window opens.

The French international joined PSG in January this year from Newcastle United, but has struggled to make himself a regular in the starting lineup due to the stiff competition for places – Marco Verratti, Thiago Motta, Blaise Matuidi and Clement Chantome.

Manchester United have long been linked with Cabaye, but never made any potential international official, however, it does appear manager Louis Van Gaal will bolster his midfield in January to ensure his side can finish in the top-four of the Premier League this season.

Cabaye would welcome the move if it meant more first-team football, while having great experience of the Premier League with Newcastle, so he would take little time to adapt to his return to England.
