Manchester United in bid for PSV winger Memphis Depay

According to the Metro, Manchester United are set to make a bid for PSV Eindhoven forward Memphis Depay in January, with manager Louis Van Gaal looking to boost his attacking options.

Depay would reportedly set them back £18M, but has shown in the last 18 months that he’s one of the rising talents in Europe. Dubbed “the Dutch Cristiano Ronaldo” Memphis Depay has scored seven goals in eight games this season.

He’s coming off the back of an outstanding campaign in 2013/14, that saw him scoring 12 times and making seven assists. He also represented his country in the 2014 World Cup, playing under then-manager Louis Van Gaal, now manager of Manchester United.

United aren’t the only side in for the 20-year-old, who looks destined for bigger things in his career.
