Serie A side Napoli have ruled out the possibility of making a bid to sign Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli in January, reports the Liverpool
“Mario coming to us in January though? There is absolutely nothing to this, it is just a hypothesis that I have never considered,” said Napoli manager Rafael Benitez.
Balotelli, 24, has endured a difficult start to his Liverpool career following his £16M move from AC Milan in the summer. The Italian international, formerly of Inter Milan and Manchester City, has yet to score his first Premier League goal for the Reds, and has only netted twice in 14 games played.
As a result, reports suggested manager Brendan Rodgers was looking to cut his losses in January, with Napoli being one of the Italian sides linked. However, Benitez hasn’t even considered making any sort of approach for him as yet.
