Moussa Sissoko scored the only goal of the game against newly-promoted Queens Park Rangers to earn Newcastle their fifth Premier League win on the bounce, reports BBC
Newcastle started the game strongly, with chances from Ryan Taylor and Ayoze Perez being the closest they came from the opening exchanges. But the first-half had little clear-cut opportunities from either side and ended goalless.
Rangers striker Charlie Austin, who had been in fine form prior to the international break, struggled to make an impact for the Londoners in the first 45 minutes.
After the break, Newcastle maintained their dominance, and found the breakthrough late in the second-half through Moussa Sissoko. The talented French midfielder linked up with Sammy Ameobi, before finding the back of the net.
The result means it was the Magpies fifth league win on the bounce, while QPR finished the day propping up the table.
