After falling to their third league defeat from four games Mauricio Pochettino insisted he does not feel under pressure despite yet another poor performance from his Tottenham side, the BBC
Stoke travelled to White Hart Lane on Sunday and left with a 2-1 win which condemned Spurs to their fourth loss from six home league games this season – leaving boos ringing out from the home faithful.
Alarmingly it has also been the manner of the players’ performances that is riling fans with their continued capitulation in the heart of defence becoming an unwanted trademark of their side.
Tottenham now sit 12th in the table, four points from fourth spot, but despite this latest defeat and performance new boss Pochettino insisted he is not feeling under pressure.
He said: “No, but when you lose you are always unhappy.
“We need to find a solution very quickly. This is my challenge in the next few weeks.
“It is clear from the result we need to improve a lot and improve quickly.
“When we conceded we started to make rash decisions and felt uncomfortable on the pitch.”
The home side found themselves a goal down after just six minutes at the weekend and failed to recover, as Jon Walters added a second before half time – Nacer Chadli did pull a goal back but Kyle Naughton’s late red card all but settled the result.
It is also yet another defeat for Spurs following Europa League duties on Thursday.
