Real Madrid are preparing a £20m January offer for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as they look to improve their goalkeeping options, according to the Daily
The long-serving Iker Casillas in currently the European champions’ first choice to play between the posts, but his form for club and country has been called into question in recent months following a number of high-profile mistakes. He was also linked with a move to Arsenal in the summer.
Lloris is regarded by many as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and he has made no secret of his desire to play at the very highest level. He has been at Tottenham since August 2012, but has so far been unable to help them into the Champions League, and this current season has been an inconsistent one for the North London club.
Despite signing a new long-term contract in the summer, Lloris is likely to be interested in joining Real should the opportunity arise. Carlo Ancelotti’s men would be content to wait until the end of the season should a deal not be done in January, while Paris St. Germain are also in the running to sign the French international.
