Southampton forward Shane Long scored two goals from the bench as the Saints’ winning run continued at home to Leicester, reports BBC
The Saints weren’t at their fluid best against the newly-promoted Foxes, but enjoyed the lion’s share of possession against Leicester and created considerably more chances.
They left it late to make an impact, however, with substitute Shane Long coming off the bench to win the game. Long scored in the 75th minute with a beautifully curled effort into the far corner, before repeating the feat five minutes late, scoring past Leicester ‘keeper Kasper Schmeichel.
Southampton’s win means they stay in second place in the Premier League, and have extended their lead over 3rd-placed Manchester City. Leicester City are sliding down the table, and find themselves in the relegation zone.
