Southampton manager Ronald Koeman confident of top-four finish despite Aston Villa setback

Despite dropping points against Aston Villa last night, Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is confident his players can finish in the top-four of the Premier League this season, reports Sky Sports.

Southampton lacked their usual fluid football against Aston Villa, who limited the normally freescoring Saints to few chances on target. While they are second in the table, they have a host of difficult games to come against Manchester City (home), Arsenal (away) and Manchester United (home). But Koeman believes his side are still good enough.

“Yes I think it is possible (to finish in the top-four). I don’t see a lot of other teams that are better than Southampton. We have to play better than (last night) but everybody knows the Premier League is a battle every game and there are big teams who are struggling. If we keep going, keep the spirit and character in the team that we showed today, then I think it is possible,” he said.
