Stoke 2-2 West Ham: Hammers come from behind to rescue a point at the Britannia

Enner Valencia and Stewart Downing scored in the second-half to rescue a point for the Hammers against Stoke, reports BBC Sport

Stoke City started the stronger in the first-half, and took the lead after half an hour through Victor Moses. The Nigerian forward, on loan from Chelsea, scored from close range after a Bojan shot was originally blocked.

The Potters doubled their advantage after the break, with Mame Diouf scoring just minutes before the hour mark.

But West Ham fought back well. The Londoners equalised minutes after Diouf’s goal through Enner Valencia to halve the deficit, before Stewart Downing popped up in the 73rd minute to ensure United took a share of the spoils.

Both sides will have taken a point before the game, but Stoke will be frustrated at throwing away a two goal lead.
