Stoke City 1-2 Burnley: Ings brace seals back-to-back league wins for the Clarets

Burnley striker Danny Ings scored twice as the newly-promoted outfit produced a rearguard display to take all three points at the Britannia stadium, reports BBC Sport.

The visitors took the lead in the 12th minute, with Ings scoring from close range after Stoke ‘keeper Asmir Begovic parried an effort into his path. A minute later, Ings doubled Burnley’s lead, scoring in the area once more after a Michael Kightly low ball into him.

Stoke managed to halve the deficit just after the 30 minute mark through Jonathan Walters, however. A Bojan cross was fiercely headed into the back of the net from the experienced forward, which then breathed life into the Potters.

They enjoyed the lion’s share of possession throughout, while having all the chances, but just couldn’t find another goal. City were missed the target with the majority of their opportunities, and left the Britannia without any points.
