Sunderland held Chelsea to a 0-0 draw tonight at the Stadium of Light, with the North-East perhaps feeling they deserved more from today’s encounter, reports BBC
The Black Cats spent some periods deep in their own half looking to frustrate the Londoners, while hitting them on the counter when they had possession. Gus Poyet’s side failed to create any clear-cut chances, but will have been happy to go into the break level.
In the second-half, the game descended into end-to-end, with both Sunderland and Chelsea having chances to break the deadlock. The hosts will feel they had the better of the exchanges, with Adam Johnson coming very close with a number of opportunities from distance.
But they held out for a point, while Chelsea extended their unbeaten run to 13 Premier League games.
