Swansea 2-1 Arsenal: Super-sub Gomis scores second-half winner to steal late win for the Swans

Swansea City came from behind against Arsenal to earn all three points at the Liberty stadium, reports BBC Sport.

The first-half was largely uneventful, with the home side being more defensively sound to nullify the threat of the opposition. Swansea did create some early opportunities, with Jefferson Montero providing a real useful outlet on the left-hand side, but Bony wasn’t at his best in attack.

After the break, it was Arsenal who took the lead following a flowing counter-attack move. Danny Welbeck was the willing recipient on the right flank, and cut inside with the ball to find and unmarked Alexis Sanchez, who tucked his effort away from close range with ease.

But Swansea weren’t to be denied. Gylfi Sigurdsson struck a beautiful free-kick into the top corner to level proceedings, before super-sub Bafetimbi Gomis headed home from a Montero cross to win the game late on.
