Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that the Premier League title is Chelsea’s to lose this season following a string of results that sent them at least eight points clear of their main rivals, Sky
Arsenal crashed to a 2-1 defeat away to Swansea on Sunday while Manchester City could only draw with Queens Park Rangers – the results leaving the teams 12 and eight points behind leaders Chelsea
Following the disappointing result – their second slip from a winning position in a week – Wenger conceded that this year’s crown appears to already be heading to West London, with Jose Mourinho’s side still unbeaten in all competitions.
He said: “Look at the season and Chelsea are on course for 105 points.
“Look at the number of points they have today and if they keep that up nobody will touch them, that’s for sure.
“It doesn’t look like anybody is capable of challenging them at the moment.
“There’s no obvious reason, but they have had a good start and as long as you don’t lose you don’t question yourself.”
Encouragement can be taken from Arsenal’s position however with the club sitting only one point from the Champions League places despite a more than lacklustre start to the season.
The likes of Liverpool, Tottenham, Everton and West Ham all dropped points this weekend and their minimum target of qualifying for the Champions League is well intact.
However they will need to sort out their increasing defensive frailties if they are to turn their current form around.
