Tottenham’s Kyle Naughton loses appeal against suspension

According to talkSPORTS, Tottenham defender Kyle Naughton has lost his appeal over a red card he received in Spurs’ recent defeat to Stoke.

The youngster is banned for two games following the red card, with the appeal having been dismissed during an independent regulatory commission hearing. He was given a straight red card for the initial incident, which made it possible to appeal.

He picked up the red card following a trip on Stoke City winger Victor Moses, when the Nigerian international was racing through on goal on the weekend. Naughton’s absence now means Tottenham will threadbare with options at right-back, while Kyle Walker still sidelined with injury.

It’s already the second dismissal Naughton has suffered this season for Spurs, and will see him unavailable for selection until December.
