Tottenham’s Vlad Chiriches unhappy with a lack of playing time

Tottenham defender Vlad Chiriches has admitted on Sky Sports that he’s not happy with being frozen out at Spurs this season.

The 24-year-old was signed from Steaua Bucharest in August 2013 for around £8M, and was dropped straight into the deep end in his debut season, making 17 Premier League appearances (27 in all competitions) in 2013/14.

However, his second season at White Hart Lane under new manager Mauricio Pochettino has seen him completely out of the reckoning and limited to the rare start in the Europe League or Premier League, racking up just 355 minutes of senior football this campaign.

His form suffered a debut during his first season at Tottenham, but with Spurs having problems with their backline, Chiriches will have certainly felt he was a good option for Pochettino. But with the likes of Juventus having been linked with his signature, the 24-year-old could well be considering his future with Tottenham.
