Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck scored the only goal of the game in the second-half as the Londoners ended their run of consecutive league defeats to West Brom, reports BBC
Arsenal are on to in the first-half against the Midlands outfit, but just couldn’t find the breakthrough. Arsene Wenger’s side were perhaps at times guilty of overplaying rather than looking to get a shot on goal, while West Brom tried to hit the Londoners on the break.
Albion didn’t test goalkeeper Damian Martinez at all in the first 45 minutes, but Arsenal’s best chance was arguably Olivier Giroud dispossessing West Brom ‘keeper Ben Foster out wide, before hitting his effort off target with the goal gaping from a narrow angle.
In the second-half, the gunners finally made the breakthrough. Spanish winger Santi Cazorla cleverly jinked his way past West Brom defender Andre Wisdom, before standing up a cross for the onrushing Danny Welbeck to head home and seal all three points for Wenger’s men.
The win puts Arsenal fourth in the league at fulltime, with the 3 pm fixtures to be played this afternoon.
