Goals from the in-form Ayoze Perez and captain Fabricio Coloccini were enough to earn Newcastle their fourth Premier League win on the bounce, reports BBC Sport.
The first-half was typical cagey between two sides defensively organised and looking to avoid conceding a goal. But it was Newcastle who struck right on half-time through Perez.
The young Spaniard expertly flicked a cross into the bottom corner past Ben Foster in the Albion goal to put Newcastle 1-0 up at the Hawthorns.
After the break, Newcastle looked comfortable to see them game out with a 1-0 scoreline, but they made doubly sure of the result with Coloccini heading home from a Daryl Janmaat cross.
It was the Dutch defender’s second assist of the game and wrapped up all three points for Newcastle, who ended the day in the top-half of the table.
