West Brom manager Alan Irvine believes his striker Saido Berahino will receive an England call-up for his fine form, ahead of the England manager’s announcement on Thursday, reports West
“I think he would be delighted to be called up. If he does, it’s how he handles that. If he doesn’t, it’s how he handles that too. I’ve said to Saido that if he keeps playing well, good things will happen,” said Irvine.
The 21-year-old has scored seven goals in 10 Premier League games this season for West Brom, and his form is leading many to believe England manager Roy Hodgson will include him in the attack for their forthcoming Euro 2016 clash against Slovenia and friendly against Scotland.
The Three Lions don’t have many in-form strikers to choose from, with Liverpool’s Rickie Lambert potentially to be axed from the fold, meaning Berahino stands a good chance of being called up.
