West Ham United’s head of medical and sports science, Stijn Vandenbroucke, revealed that summer-signing and top scorer Diafra Sakho will return from injury in time for their weekend fixture, reports BBC
“Diafra ran individually on Monday at Chadwell Heath and will be available for the game,” Vandenbroucke said.
His return will come at a perfect time, as Sakho has been in fantastic form since his arrival from French Ligue 1 side FC Metz, scoring six league goals in seven games for the Londoners.
West Ham have been enjoying a good season too under manager Sam Allardyce, currently sitting in fifth place in the table after 10 games. Recent form has seen the Hammers winning five and drawing one of their last seven league outings.
They will regard their weekend meeting against Aston Villa as a winnable game, considering the Villans have lost six on the bounce, scoring just once in the process, so having Sakho back in the first-team could lead them to victory.
