Second-half goals from Samir Nasri and Pablo Zabaleta earned Manchester City a famous win away to Roma, and a place in the Champions League last-16, reports BBC
The first-half was typically cagey, as both sides knew any mistake could see them relinquish their place in the next round. City probed for an opener, but remained patient against a resilient Roma backline in the opening 45 minutes.
Roma hit City well on the break at times, but were left to rue poor finishing and decision-making from Gervinho in particular.
The second-half saw the game come to life. Manchester City winger Samir Nasri rifled an effort from outside the box that went in via the post to give the Sky Blues the lead. Pablo Zabaleta doubled their lead in the last few minutes of the game to book their place in the next round.
