Aguero major doubt for Man City’s Roma clash with no injury update

In form Sergio Aguero is set to miss Manchester City’s crunch Champions League clash with Roma as the strikers condition remains unknown following his injury sustained on Saturday, the BBC is reporting.

Aguero left the Etihad pitch in tears after just three minutes in what looked a serious injury from an innocuous tussle with Muhamed Besic.

It is thought the Argentinian has suffered some form of ligament damage and it could be a while until he is playing again if the worst fears are confirmed.

However there has been no update on the player’s condition and only time and scans will tell just what he has done.

It is a massive blow to City’s season to lose their star man after he spearheaded their recent revival with some simply breathe taking performances.

His 19 goals in 20 games have catapulted City back into contention in both the Premier League and Champions League – a stunning hat trick against Bayern Munich gave them hopes of qualification, while 14 league goals means they have closed the gap to Chelsea to just three points.

They must win their trip to Italy to qualify from the group stages of the Champions League and will have to also do without Yaya Toure, with the Ivorian still suspended.

Losing Aguero however will be an incredibly bitter blow.
