After Arsenal were drawn with French Ligue One side AS Monaco, club secretary David Miles has admitted he’s very pleased with the outcome, reports Sky
The Gunners have been knocked out of the competition to elite opposition in the last few seasons, losing to German Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich in the last two campaigns, and AC Milan and Barcelona (twice) before that. Their draw against a misfiring AS Monaco side will present Arsenal with a chance to get into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
“We’ve picked some of the biggest teams in Europe over the past five years, but we’re certainly not taking anything for granted. The fans have got high expectations for us (against Monaco). We’re taking nothing for granted but pleased with the draw,” said Miles.
