Arsenal could find themselves in yet another defensive crisis as they head into the midweek fixtures potentially without a left back, the Daily
During their 1-0 win away at West Brom at the weekend both full backs Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal picked up injuries to the knee and hip respectively.
They are both set to be assessed by medical staff today but if either one fails to overcome their fitness problems manager Arsene Wenger will be left without a recognised left back.
This adds to the problem of Laurent Koscielny struggling with tendonitis in both heels and the long term injury of Mathieu Debuchy.
Wenger will look to utilise holding midfielder Mathieu Flamini at left back instead of rookie right back Hector Bellerin should he have to – he is thought to value the experience of the midfielder over rookie Bellerin.
Arsenal have had a long line of injuries this season and this week has started no different, with Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Mesut Ozil and Wojciech Szczeny all on the side lines too.
There is one shred of light for fans however with Alex Oxlade Chamberlin set to overcome a knock sustained at the Hawthorns to play on Wednesday.
