After reports emerged suggesting AS Roma defender Ashley Cole was a transfer target for Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace as a result of his poor start in Italy, the England left-back’s agent has refuted such talk of an exit, reports Sky
Joining from Chelsea in the summer, Ashley Cole’s move to AS Roma hasn’t gone to well, with the experienced fullback having lost his place in the side, failing to feature for the last four weeks.
Such inactivity saw rumours linking Cole to Crystal Palace – the club who loaned him from Arsenal back in 2000 – but his representative, David Mannaseh, has called the rumours a “disgrace”.
“Ashley is loving life in Italy and in Rome. He has never been happier. Whoever has given this information out is a disgrace because all it does is give fans of a football club false hope. Ashley is concentrating on trying to win trophies in Italy and, in particular, Serie A this season. Nothing else,” he said.
