Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert feels his side have finally turned a corner

A 2-1 win against Leicester City this weekend was the fifth consecutive game Aston Villa have gone without losing, and manager Paul Lambert feels his side are now looking up the table, reports BBC Sport.

The Midlands outfit previously suffered a humiliating six defeats in a row in the Premier League, failing to score in five of the games, but they have enjoyed an upturn in form of late, drawing three and winning two of their following five games.

“Have we turned the corner? You’re never quite sure but we’re on a little bit of a run. We went a goal down against the run of play but some of the football we played was fantastic. I’m not one for statistics but someone told me we had 72% of the play. We have got to try and get this massive football club up the table,” said Lambert.
