Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling scored either side of half-time as Brendan Rodgers’ men booked their place into the Capital One Cup semi-finals, reports BBC
Liverpool took the lead in the 20th minute through Sterling. The young winger headed home from inside the area to put the visitors ahead.
Lazar Markovic scored less than 10 minutes to give Liverpool some much-needed, as Bournemouth were carrying a threat throughout, and arguably should have taken the lead themselves.
Sterling scored his second and Liverpool’s third goal after weaving an opening from close range to fire low and hard into the back of the net.
Bournemouth did pull a goal back through Dan Gosling, whose effort should arguably have been saved by Reds shot-stopper Brad Jones, but it didn’t matter on the night as Liverpool book their place in the Capital One Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
