Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has no intention of selling Petr Cech

With Arsenal and Liverpool having been linked with second-choice Chelsea goalkeeper, manager Jose Mourinho has stated that the long-serving shot-stopper is still important for the Blues, reports the Express.

Cech lost his place to Thibaut Courtois this season, with the Belgian goalkeeper returning from his three year loan spell with La Liga champions Atletico Madrid. And while Cech admitted he wasn’t happy with being second fiddle, he has no intention of leaving Stamford Bridge. Mourinho believes the club still need him too.

“When Courtois was injured against Arsenal and Petr Cech comes to play on minute 20, I wasn’t worried about a change of goalkeeper. Obviously he wants to play, so I have to feed the natural ambition of somebody who is a top goalkeeper. We like him, we respect him and we need him,” said Mourinho.
