Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock wanted Tottenham’s Harry Kane on loan

Crystal Palace manager Neil Warnock admitted he tried to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane on loan this season, reports BBC Sport.

“I tried to get him a few times when I came here. He is a good lad and you know what you are going to get with him. He is an exciting player. At the time, he was not involved and we felt there was a chance of getting him on loan. We know we haven’t got enough fire-power. We need improvement in that area and we are looking to address that in January,” said Warnock.

Harry Kane, 21, was behind the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado in the pecking order at Tottenham, but is now their first-choice in attack after scoring 11 goals in 19 games in all competitions. The England U21 international is on the cusp of a call-up for the senior side soon too, so his future looks to be with Spurs.
