Everton’s Steven Naismith signs a long-term deal with the club

According to BBC Sport, Everton forward Steven Naismith has signed a long-term deal with the Toffees, keeping him at Goodison Park until 2019.

The Scottish international, 28, joined Everton on a free transfer in 2012, and has since become a consistent performer in the first-team. This season, the talented and creative attacking-midfielder has scored five goals in 11 league starts, creating 16 chances, making him one of Everton’s best bargain buys.

“I am so happy here. From the moment I signed my first contract here it wasn’t long before I saw what a great club it was. I would say this is probably the best form of my career. I’m delighted to have agreed an extension which will keep me here for a few more years yet,” he said.
