Milan are set to turn their attentions to signing Liverpool winger Suso in the January transfer window, with the Spaniard’s days at Anfield appearing to be numbered, according to the Daily
The Serie A club are set to lose key striker Stephan El Shaarawy to Borussia Dortmund at the turn of the year, and they view Suso as a possible long-term replacement. His contract expires next summer, meaning that a pre-contract agreement can be struck in January, helped by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers’ willingness to sell the 21-year-old on the cheap.
Suso was brought to Liverpool from his hometown club Cadiz in 2012, and was an occasional member of the first-team during Rodgers’ first season in charge, but he has gradually fallen out of favour, spending last term on loan with Almeria. Since returning he has played in only one competitive match, although injury has played a part.
The player’s agent Jaime Serra recently stated that his client would consider a move to Milan, but would be happy to stay at Liverpool. “If there’s an interested team they have to get in touch with the Reds and find an agreement with them,’ he said.
“We don’t reject any possibility and it would be a pleasure to play with Milan, but first an agreement has to be found with Liverpool because his main choice is to stay where he is.”
