Man Utd’s Di Maria ruled out with pelvic injury

Manchester United are set for a spell with summer signing Angel Di Maria after the winger suffered a pelvic injury, the BBC are reporting.

The Argentinian was ruled out of their 3-1 Boxing Day win over Newcastle because of the injury before manager Louis van Gaal revealed that he picked up the setback in training on Christmas Eve.

It is yet to be known just how long the winger will be out for with the United boss still waiting on analysis from his medical team.

He said: “It is not a muscle injury, it is more the pelvis does not have the right relationship with the leg.

“We will have to wait and see for the analysis.”

The Argentine has already missed three weeks of the season thanks to a hamstring tear picked up against Hull at the end of November.

He had only returned to the United line up on the 20th of December.

However having cost the Old Trafford side £59.7m in the summer from former club Real Madrid Di Maria has been hugely impressive so far in the Premier League.

He has made 11 league appearances so far for Van Gaal’s men, scoring three goals during that time.
