Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini to seek cause of current injury crisis

After losing two players prior to their 1-0 win against Leicester City, Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has said he will look into the reason behind recent injuries being picked up, reports ITV Football.

City’s only fit first-team striker Edin Dzeko picked up a calf injury in the warm-up ahead of their Leicester clash, while captain Vincent Kompany suffered a hamstring injury near the end of the game, leaving the Sky Blues now with three strikers sidelined with injury, and Pellegrini wants to find out the cause as a result.

“Maybe we must find a reason why. It is very unlucky to have the three strikers out with injuries but we must try to solve the problem and play another way, or keep a clean sheet. It is difficult because we have to play a lot of games during the last days of December, but I never complain about the players who cannot play,” he said.
